Travelers Insurance Company v. Robbie Linton

In this case, Travelers Insurance Company sued Mr. Robbie Linton, a former workers compensation client of the legendary Rex Houston. Travelers sought to avoid responsibility for an award of the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission which arose out of a 1986 oil field accident. Making good on Mr. Houston's promise to defend Mr. Linton's right to lifetime medical care under Texas law, Mr. Holmes answered the lawsuit, presented Mr. Linton's claims at trial and won a jury verdict of $77.55. The unusual facts of the case garnered national media attention. The case was featured in both the Texas Lawyer and the National Law Journal. It remains one of Mr. Holmes' proudest accomplishments.
