Gibson v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company

In this case, Mr. Holmes acted as lead counsel for the plaintiff class of more than 3 million State Farm policyholders. The Court entered Judgment for the Class in January of 2000 ordering State Farm to provide uninsured motorist coverage to all members of the Class insured by State Farm since 1984. State Farm subsequently paid more than $40 million in claims some of which were more than ten years old.

The case was the first of its kind in Texas and was featured on the front page of the Dallas Morning News.

Mr. Holmes subsequently acted as lead counsel for the class in similar cases against Allstate Insurance Company, GEICO Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company, Mid-Continent Insurance Company, The Hartford Insurance Companies and the GMAC group of insurance companies.
